Midlife

East Coast Premiere

This heartfelt love story beautifully intertwines themes of religious identity and romance, and features some of Israel’s biggest stars. It tells the tale of two estranged sisters, Ahinoam and Sari, whose lives take dramatically different paths, only to be brought back together in an unexpected and transformative way.

After leaving her ultra-Orthodox husband, Ahinoam (Chen Amsalem Zaguri, known for MJFF 2018 film Maktub) seeks refuge with Sari (Moran Cohen Gross), who left their religious roots behind to start a new life in Tel Aviv with her husband (Tsahi Halevi, known for Fauda and MJFF 2014 film Bethlehem). Rejected by her sister, Ahinoam finds solace in a spiritual community, where she begins rebuilding her life. As Sari and her husband face their own struggles, the sisters reunite, embarking on a profound journey of reconciliation, healing, and renewal.

Set against the backdrop of faith and redemption, Midlife is a moving portrayal of family, love, and second chances.
