Highway 65

East Coast Premiere

In this unmissable stylish and suspenseful thriller nominated for eight Israeli Academy Awards (Ophirs), Tali Sharon (MJFF 2018 film Harmonia and MJFF 2025 film The Milky Way) shines as gifted detective Daphna who is stuck investigating petty crimes in the sleepy town of Afula. But when a former beauty queen from the town’s most powerful family goes missing, Daphna is thrust into a complex mystery that could either redeem her career or lead to her downfall.

With echoes of Fargo and Twin Peaks, Highway 65 blends suspense and style in a gripping crime drama. As Daphna digs deeper into the case, her relentless pursuit of justice unearths dark secrets the town would rather keep hidden. Despite the indifference of her colleagues and the evasive behavior of the missing woman's family, her unyielding determination drives her to push boundaries and question loyalties.
