After
Southeast US Premiere
After is a groundbreaking exploration where poetry and cinema converge to reflect on the Holocaust, featuring Academy Award-winner Melissa Leo and Géza Röhrig, star of Son of Saul. Through the voices of contemporary poets, the film highlights the enduring importance of poetry in a world still grappling with genocide, focusing not on the devastation, but on the human resilience that follows. Each poem unfolds as a narrative, intertwined with music, archival footage, and personal memories, bringing these powerful words to life on screen. As the voices of survivors fade, After preserves their legacy in verse, offering both a reflection on the past and a poignant reminder for the future.
