My Daughter My Love

East Coast Premiere

Nominated for four Israeli Academy Awards, this beautifully heartfelt and quietly joyous film features a breathtaking performance by Israel's renowned actor, Sasson Gabay (Karaoke, MJFF 2023), who stars as Shimon, a 70-year-old widower travelling from Israel to Paris to see a childhood friend. During his visit, he stays with his only daughter (Israeli rising star Sivan Levy), who lives with her husband and their infant son. As he settles in, Shimon becomes aware of the impending dissolution of their marriage. Fueled by deep love for his daughter, he tries to offer his help, leading to a journey of self-discovery in which they share both their dreams and desires that they had never expressed before.

Accompanying the film premiere is a special recorded introduction by legendary Israeli actor Sasson Gabay, as well as a discussion with director Eitan Green. To view the conversation please click here.
