Talented Mr. Rosenberg

US Premiere

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Barry Avrich returns to the Miami Jewish Film Festival after the success of his award-winning documentary Howie Mandel: But Enough About Me with his fascinating new film The Talented Mr. Rosenberg, a tragic and revelatory look into our oh-so-susceptible selves. Through extraordinary and unprecedented interviews with Albert Rosenberg himself, his daughter, and his victims, the film investigates the endlessly bizarre inside story of the legendary con artist who cheated men out of their millions and women out of both their money and their hearts. In the tradition of films such as The Tinder Swindler, Catch Me if You Can, and Inventing Anna, this topical new documentary chases down Albert Rosenberg and digs deep into his mind, motives, and method — and the victims, family, and lovers who fell for his cons over and over again. How did he convince banks, art galleries, his wives and girlfriends, and elite investors from Monaco to Toronto that he was a sophisticated, cultured tycoon with millions to spend and endless business schemes — and how did he get away with it for so long? These are the questions that are tackled in this mesmerizing new film.

The special premiere event will feature director Barry Avrich and producer Mark Selby in attendance to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A afterward.
