World Premiere
From "pizza face" to "Don Yoni", a Bolivian Jewish family living in Miami recounts the sacrifices and contradictions inherent in raising a son with tuberous sclerosis, a rare condition from which only his raw, uncanny works of art can provide solace.
The world premiere of the made in Miami short film Donyoni will precede the feature presentation of The Replacement. Accompanying this premiere event will be director Gisela Savdie and film subject Jonathan Aizenstat.
Director's Bio
Gisela Savdie is a Colombian artist/writer living in Miami and Barranquilla, Colombia. For twelve years she has been writing for El Heraldo in Barranquilla, Colombia, and for Letra Urbana in Miami. She is a member of the Florida Film Critics Circle, a Rotten Tomatoes approved critic, and a board member of Miami Beach Film society.
