Revenge: Our Dad the Nazi Killer

North American Premiere

Three brothers in sunny Melbourne thought they knew everything there was to know about their late esteemed father. He was a Holocaust survivor; a WWII Jewish resistance leader against the Nazis; a happily married watchmaker and a suburban family man… but was he secretly a vigilante killer, too? During a casual family conversation, Jack Green, the youngest brother and a dermatologist, is shocked by what he hears. His rabbi brother John mentions a rumor that their father Boris Green was allegedly involved in the revenge killing of a former Nazi living in Australia -- after the war. Sam, their middle brother, also remembers hushed talk during childhood about Nazis and a missing body. The brothers band together and hire a decorated private investigator to get to the bottom of this knotty, unsolved family mystery once and for all...

After the Second World War, up to 4,000 Nazis fled to what they hoped would be an anonymous life in Australia. At the same time, the greatest number of immigrant European Holocaust survivors per capita outside of Israel also sought escape from the memory of a horrifying past on Australia's shores. Including Boris Green and his brother Fima, whose whole family had been wiped out during the Ponary massacre in modern-day Lithuania where 100,000 people were mass murdered. Was Boris Green really after a fresh start in Australia or was he seeking vengeance against those who he felt were responsible for the death of his loved ones and countless other Jewish people? And why were ex-Nazis being protected by Western governments after the war despite Jewish opposition?

Featuring extensive home videos, never-been-seen archives, and a colorful cast of characters including Holocaust survivors, WWII partisans, historians, rabbis, and children of Nazis, Revenge: Our Dad the Nazi Killer is a thrilling murder mystery where one family’s obsessive quest to learn the truth about their father’s past opens up a secret history of Nazi fugitives, Cold War spies, covert Jewish vigilante intelligence networks, and high-level government conspiracies that explode post-war myths and ultimately lead to the timeless question of whether we ever really know our parents.
