Inspired by real Mossad stories, Jonathan Dekel's gripping and highly entertaining espionage comedy unfolds the journey of Dov (Josh Pais, known for roles in Joker and The Dropout), a Mossad agent on the brink of retirement. Dov has always aspired to match the rugged and resolute Mossad spies from Israel, but they've consistently regarded him as an American softy. After completing his latest mission, Dov is determined to avoid returning home — where retirement awaits him — and instead seeks refuge in a Turkish hotel. It's within these walls that he crosses paths with Mossad's prime target, the legendary Gilgamesh. As Dov tries to prove Gilgamesh's true identity to headquarters, he also encounters Eden, a young barmaid with whom he forms a deep connection. Over time, he convinces her to join him in his rogue mission. A loving paean to iconic spies like James Bond and Our Man Flint, Checkout brings together the spy and the terrorist, setting the stage for an unusual friendship to develop, one which forces our hero to face a pivotal decision about where his true loyalties lie.
